Hear you on the hand Jeff - likely a little very fine grit emory cloth, and taking off any rough surfaces, will make that easier for you. For me it's Advil for the whole regatta weekend. Have fun making it "your" perfect boat.

thanks Rob,
I tried out trailering with the mast sections together and sail wrapped around mast, as many lines preconfigured as possible. I also had the boom in place and main sheet installed. I supported the mast in 3 places and was pretty gentle driving it. I will evaluate the mast fittings after a few more trips but seemed to work pretty well.

I took the boat out yesterday on the lake nearby. Decent wind but gusty and shifty. That boat is so light with so much sail it really reacts super quick to the wind change. I had forgotten about that, may have to try a smaller sail for that type of wind. Nice technical fast steering response, that feels nice.

Aluminum mast collar replacements
I ran into the posting in this section about aluminum mast collar replacements from great lakes in case the plastic ones break.
So for my use case, if I do break any, they could be upgraded to metal fittings.
