I also made a short video, but it is to large to add it here
So I added it to "WeTransfer"
You can download it here:
wetransfer.com/downloads/d9b93b18dcf3cdf...0200725213809/571d71

This download link will work only for one week.
First click on "Ich akzeptiere" That means "I accept (the conditions)"
Than click on the left blue button "Herunterladen" That means "download"

I'm using a bolt on my '88 (it came with one and I changed it to a better fitting one), but it seems to add some play into an already not-completely-tight setup. The Sunfish I regularly sail has all of the original hardware and has almost no slop, but it's a 2005.

Do those of you with original pintles have any play?

I have the original spring loaded assembly, and it installs with very little play.
It is very convenient to click in and out also.

I ordered a replacement pintle from Weeks. I got the pintle a while back but they have run out of the springs, so still waiting for that. Does anyone know if it might be the same spring as the sunfish uses? If so, maybe I can find a source for that spring.
