With regattas being cancelled all over the place for the foreseeable future, we at Bloomington Yacht Club are seeing an uptick in our Wednesday night small boat racing. This past Wed (5/27) we had 9 boats out for 3 races. Previously, we've had 3 of us out on 3 different Weds. We've been racing without a PRO or committee boat. We start from the dock and sail to an appropriately located no wake buoy somewhere on the lake. If the wind is light, we grab a mark and take it out a short distance and use that.

We added a new member to the fleet. I sold him my #2 boat (so now I'm looking for a reasonable priced replacement). He's really enjoying the F5. He ordered a dolly and is making little improvements to the boat for personal taste. We have another sailor who wants a F5 as well, so we're looking.

We're making the best of it and it seems to be working.

The Lake Lemon Regatta is still on at this point. We'll make a decision when the time is appropriate. :)

We had our first Tuesday night at Berlin Yacht Club and had 12 boats on the starting line. We run ours as a Singlehanded fleet. Bring whatever you have as long as you singlehand. We ran 3 races in pretty high winds. Had multiple boats capsize however everyone faired okay.
We run a format where we have a windward mark and the start line. All finishes are downwind. We use the pin end of the line as the leeward mark if we are doing more than once around. We do shorter courses with the focus on getting as many races in as possible.
