I'm an old guy, 73. I live in the Carson Valley, Nevada which is about 30 minutes east of Lake Tahoe. I've been sailing for about 50 years. Past boats were a Snark, Hobie14, Lido 14, Balboa 26, 505, Santana20, Catalina 27, Cooranado 15, and finally Force Five. I've been racing on an Olson 30 with the same 5 guys for 40 years. We race the Olson on San Francisco Bay in the winter and Lake Tahoe in the summer.

I am retired from the US Forest Service. Other interest include motorcycles, bicycles, RC airplanes, piano and guitar (I suck but keep trying), and shooting.

I traded two C15s to the sea scouts for my F5. It hasn't been in the water for years. I'm restoring it and will post some pictures of my restoration when I can figure out how to do that. I've never sailed a F5 or seen one on the water but I'm looking forward to doing both.

Thank you in advance for the class and this web site.

Welcome JOE:
The "old" forum had an abundance of information regarding F5 repairs and rebuilds. Chris is working on bringing all that old info over to this new forum web site. But ask any and all questions here and there are plenty of experienced F5 sailors that can help. "Good on YA' at 73. That's the spirit.."keep moving"!! I'm there too.

Brian,
Unfortunately we will not be able to bring over the old discussion from the old forum. The class members will be helping to build new content to help out new owners.

I would be interested in seeing a table with Class members names, boat names, sail numbers, location, and email mail. (Participation or personal info could be optional or user controlled.

Joe,
We had done this a long time ago, however it caused too many spamming issues. The class can share class member information in a certain region with other class members for organizing events.
